We are excited to announce our 2026 Guild Challenge – Jumping for Joy. Building off of our guild theme for the year (Creating Joy), the specific prompt for Jumping for Joy (emphasis on ‘jumping’) is movement.
Consider movement in nature, your family, yourself and use that to inspire your quilt design or color palette. Here are a few examples of how the prompt movement can be a quilt inspiration:
- Watching the ocean waves move in and out
- The delight of a small child filled with endless energy
- A song that gets you up and dancing every single time
- Quiet time at your sewing machine as your hands move fabric under the needle
- Your daily walk or run
- The movement of your hands as you stretch and fold sourdough
Also, consider movement as a design outcome using the placement of colors, blocks, and the quilting to invite the viewer to move their eyes across the quilt.
Please know that every person will design a quilt that uses the prompt in a different way. This is why challenges are so very fun and exciting.
Official Guidelines:

- Quilt can be of any size
- Quilts can use solids, prints or both
