Quiltchievement Badges, just like scout badges, encourages members to do certain quilty and guild-related tasks to earn fun patches.
This started in 2025 and is on-going with new badges released every year. Follow the prompts for each badge and bring your filled out activity tracker to a monthly meeting to redeem your badge! You can print your own track or pick up a booklet at the next meeting.

2025 Release:
Grow Badge – Our guild theme for 2025! Grow your skills and earn this badge by trying three (3) new-to-you quilting techniques. This is an ongoing badge so long as the techniques you try are done in 2025 or later!
Sew-cial Butterfly Badge– We put on some fabulous events and gatherings throughout the year. Attend at least 10 official guild events: monthly guild meeting, monthly Sew Social, retreat, workshop, or any guild-sponsored event. This is an ongoing badge and can be earned for events attended in 2025 or later.
Guild Superstar Badge– The strength of our guild is in our members. This badge is an extra thank you to those who volunteer their time and energy to make our guild extra great. Serve on a committee, speak at a meeting, or volunteer in other ways… the Board will award these to those that go above and beyond for our guild! This is an ongoing badge and can be earned at any time!
UFO Badge – Dwindle down that pile of unfinished projects (UFOs) and earn this badge by finishing five (5) projects you started a least a year ago. It can be quilts or quilt-adjacent projects (quilt apparel, bag), but what’s a better motivator than this cute little alien badge? This is an ongoing badge and may be earned at any time, so long as projects take over a year to finish from the time you started it.
Community Giving Champion Badge – We have an active community giving program that benefits the Durham County Foster Program because of our generous members. Champion the cause by donating finished quilts, quilt tops, participating in sew days, or other contributions to our community giving program. Earning this badge is easy as 1-2-3! Donate 1 finished quilt OR donate 2 quilt tops OR participate in 3 community sew days/group quilts. The Community Giving Committee may also give these out to those who go above and beyond for our community giving program! This is an on-going badge and can be earned at any time!
Challenge Badge – This badge is for participating in 2025 guild challenge: “Color Outside the Lines!” All participants received this special edition badge for submitting a quilt.
2026 Release:
Scrap Enthusiast Badge – Scraps! Scraps everywhere! We all have them, now let’s use them. Do all of the following scraptastic tasks in 2026 or after to earn this badge: (1) Create a quilt or project using scraps (2) Exchange scraps from a quilty friend (3) Organize your scraps. This is an ongoing badge and can be earned at any time so long as your scrap tasks are done in 2026 or later.
“Thanks, I Made It!” Badge – Use your sewing skills to make a fabulous non-quilt quilty item like a bag, an article of clothing or anything that uses quilting techniques but is NOT a quilt. This is an ongoing badge and may be earned at any time, so long as your project is made in 2026 or after.
Hand Stitching Badge – Use a hand stitching technique 3 times in 2026 or after to earn this badge. Examples include: hand quilting, sashiko, embroidery, English Paper Piecing, binding, etc. This is an ongoing badge and may be earned at any time, so long as your hand sewing is done in 2026 or after.
Creating Joy Badge – Our 2026 theme is “Creating Joy!” Share your J.O.Y. of quilting to earn this badge by doing all 3 tasks:
(1) Jelly Roll- use a fabric that delights you
(2) Others- do something fun with your quilt community (examples: participating in a bee, attending a workshop, sewing with friends)
(3) You- Work on a project because it’s fun and something you personally want to work on. This is your chance to work on the pattern or design that’s been a “one day, when I’m not making something for someone else…”
Singularity Sew-A-Long Badge – This is a limited edition badge for participants in the Singularity Sew-A-Long during 2026. Stay tuned for future sew-a-long badge opportunities!
2026 Challenge Badge – This is a limited edition badge for participants in our 2026 guild challenge: “Jumping for Joy!”
Badges are available for pick-up at every guild meeting!
