We are excited to announce our second workshop in 2024 – Einstein Tiles and English Paper Piecing (EPP)!
Last year, a newly discovered shape – called an einstein tile – grabbed the attention of mathematicians and quilters! The “Einstein Tile” is a thirteen-sided shape that covers a plane using only itself, with no gaps, and no repeats in the placement. It is called an Einstein Tile, not after Albert Einstein, but a play on “ein stein” in German, meaning “one stone”. This unique shape – which looks a bit like a hat – can be constructed using kite shaped EPP units. In this workshop you will learn about mathematical tilings and the recently discovered einstein monotiles. Then we will incorporate these ideas into English paper piecing designs.
When: Saturday, June 29th, 2024, 1-5pm.

Workshop Fee: $30 – TMQG members or $40 guest (non-member), payable only by credit card. Members, use the discount code in your email to claim the member price! The fee includes a kit of the EPP papers which will be provided at the workshop.
Cancellation policy: Refunds are available only if your workshop seat is filled by someone on the waitlist. A $5 fee will be retained to cover transaction fees.
