Time to get buzzing!

Our theme for 2024 is Community. Susan @dontcallmesu – our new beekeeper – will help us get several quilting bees started  by organizing several groups of quilters, or “bees,” based on interest (block swaps, technique, etc.), skill level, duration, or location.

Our initial bees are going to be organized around one of these four themes:

  • Block Swap – members choose one style of block in specified colors, and members can make as many as they like in the same size. Send them in to your ‘Beekeeper’ and they return as many blocks as you sent in. A great way to get variety in your quilt while keeping the same colorway.
  • 6 month Bee – For commitment phobics  A shorter time frame may be very helpful for quilters with demanding schedules, or for those who are not sure about committing to a group.
  • Charity Bee – members work on quilts that are solely for charitable giving. There are so many ideas out there, and I’m sure our creative members will come up with many more when asked.
  • NewBee – for those who are new(ish) quilters and/or may lack confidence. A way to explore techniques you’ve always wanted to try, or get new ideas and inspiration. We all get better together.

We will do our best to match people together based on interest, date/time availability, virtual or in-person, and location. Interest survey is open until February 10.
