Announcing Workshop: Controlled Chaos: A Foundation Paper Piecer’s Approach to Improv

We are very excited to announce an upcoming workshop with Giuseppe Ribaudo, aka Guicy Guice. The workshop is called Controlled Chaos: A Foundation Paper Piecer’s Approach to Improv and will take place on Monday, November 9.

The workshop is part improv, part foundation paper piecing, and part mystery! Students will learn a different approach to improv sewing, utilizing improvisational design to draw their own foundation paper patterns as motifs are pulled at random from a mystery bag.

There will be three project options – pillow top/mini quilt – 18” square; staggered layout – 63” square; or medallion layout – 64” square

(updated 10/1/26) The workshop will take place from 9 am – 5 pm in the Bernina World of Sewing classroom. Member fee is $125 and non-member/guest fee is $150.

Member registration opens Saturday, October 3 at 10 am. Members will be sent a link via email. Non-member/guest registration will open later in the month.
