September Guild Meeting

Join us on Sunday, September 13th, 3-5 pm at the Brier Creek Community Center for our monthly guild meeting.

Sharon Brener from Touchgrass Textiles will be joining us to talk about weaving. Sharon Brener is a product designer turned weaver, the maker behind Touch Grass Textiles, and a cofounder of Makeshift Collective. She’ll speak about bringing modern tools to traditional crafts, diving into how her UX background has shaped her approach to 3D-printed weaving tools and sent her on side quests like designing her own bobbins. Fun fact: mending with handwovens is what *finally* forced her to buy a sewing machine this year. She’ll also share some sneak peeks of what’s coming for fall and winter and have some little looms for you to shop and take home.

We will also host our English Paper Piecing block lottery drawing plus everyone’s favorite Show and Tell!

The  Singularity Sew-Along is still going and is close to wrapping up. And the heat of summer might be a great time to get busy with a Quilting bee!

Also remember we just announced a new workshop with Guicy Guice – Controlled Chaos: A Foundation Paper Piecer’s Approach to Improv on November 9th, stay tuned for more details.
